Fox News hires Larry Kudlow; McEnany may be next

first_imgNEW YORK (AP) — Less than a week after the Trump administration ended, one of its alumni has joined Fox News. The company announced that Larry Kudlow, a former CNBC journalist who was former President Donald Trump’s national economic council director, will host a weekday show on Fox Business Network and be an analyst across other Fox News Media properties. Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in government disclosure document that she would be working at Fox. The network says there has been no job agreement with McEnany. One of her predecessors, Sarah Sanders, just left Fox to run for governor of Arkansas.last_img

first_imgFIFA will host an international conference to discuss more effective ways to combat doping.FIFA says the November 29-30 event involving the World Anti-Doping Agency is titled: Time has come to change the strategy of the fight against doping in sport.WADA’s role has been criticised recently by some Olympic sports leaders who believe they are spending too much money analysing too many tests without catching enough drug cheats.The FIFA-hosted conference was announced after a meeting Wednesday between the football body’s medical officials and WADA director-general David Howman.FIFA says it will be organised by “medical representatives of international team sports federations, the IOC and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations”.Earlier in November, WADA will host a conference in Johannesburg to update the World Anti-Doping Code.last_img read more

New and ongoing unemployment claims dropped last week

first_imgDES MOINES — The number of first-time unemployment claims dropped again last week.Iowa Workforce Development reports the new claims were 13,040. That’s down by nearly 2,800 from the previous week. The number of continuing weekly unemployment claims was 187,375 — which is down by nearly 2,700 — and is the first drop in ongoing claims in nine-weeks.Manufacturing saw the most new claims last week with 4,679. Self-employed saw 1,251 and Health Care and Social Assistance saw 1,216 new claims.last_img
