ANTHONY THOMPSON IN FOR LACEY AS GALLAGHER NAMES SIDE TO FACE GALWAY

first_imgRory Gallagher has named his starting team to face Galway tomorrow night in the eagerly anticipated All-Ireland qualifier at Croke Park. Anthony Thompson comes in for his first start of the season and replaces the injured Karl Lacey.Thompson, is based in London and doesn’t train with the squad during the week but travels home every weekend to meet up with the squad. Thompson has been a pivotal figure in Donegal’s success over the years and will be relishing the opportunity to get back in the starting line-up.Other than Thompson, it’s the same side that faced Monaghan in the Ulster SFC final a fortnight ago.Gallagher has played down injury fears over captain Michael Murphy who was clearly struggling in the Ulster final.He said Murphy had suffered a knee injury just before the final but that it wasn’t serious and is fully fit for tomorrow’s clash with Kevin Walsh’s side at HQ.
