Rep. Aspirant Promises District Corporation for ‘Massive Job Creation’

Todd, yesterday promised his supporters that he will embark on a massive job creation initiative through the establishment of a District Corporation.Speaking to dozens of supporters who gathered under a heavy downpour of rain during his campaign launch at the Right To Play Field in Paynesville, he said creating jobs will put money back in the pockets of many people in District #6.Todd further indicated that if elected, he will make healthcare delivery a reality because making improved healthcare  a priority will help save lives.“I will ensure that your healthcare system is well enhanced and placed in the care and control of you, my citizens, to the extent that you can afford to access quality healthcare right here in district six,” he promised.He highlighted the development of the community through an inclusive participation, which he said had been neglected for many years.Todd further told supporters that if elected he will advocate for the rehabilitation of feeder roads in the district and the construction of other basic infrastructure such as schools and reform the education system, which he said will be decided by the constituents.He added that his leadership will ensure that residents of the district will play cardinal roles in the development of the community.“The best way forward for community development is to allow the people of the area to decide on their own development needs. I also promise to ensure the fullest participation of the people of the district in the decision making that will lead to the utilization of the county’s development funds,” he stated.Todd said as a representative, he will lobby with his legislative colleagues and the Executive Branch of government for the urgently needed allotment of US$1M  per budget year for each district in Liberia.Todd indicated that if that allocation is approved, he is convinced that the district will do well in its development agenda.He said his administration will improve sanitation because a good, clean, natural environment is cardinal to quality, sound health.“We pledge to ensure the full protection of our air, water, and biodiversity by scrupulous adherence to and implementation of our current national and international regulations governing the protection of our environment. Together, we will support and promote responsible use of our natural resources and subscribe to any initiative that will seek to prevent the dumping of hazardous wastes within our territory,” Todd assured his supporters.He said his leadership will empower the youth to develop the private sector as a means of stimulating the national economy, with the key objective of creating more jobs in line with the objectives of the proposed District Corporation.He said during his incumbency as “your lawmaker, rehabilitation of feeder roads will be a top priority under our leadership.
